Leaving a job that was breaking me

He told himself it was normal. A tough boss, long hours, delayed pay. Everyone had it hard.

But Sunday evenings began to feel heavy. He snapped at his children and could not sleep. He realised the job was not just tiring him, it was changing him.

He started writing down what happened each day, and talked to a trusted older colleague. Over several months he built a plan, saved a little, and moved to a healthier workplace.

"I did not have to stay and suffer to prove I was a man," he says.
